CAE Analysis / Engineering Simulation

Engineering Simulations to Evaluate a Design Before Manufacturing

We use CAE tools to study how a component, product or system may behave under specific loads, temperatures and flow conditions.

The objective is to identify critical areas, compare design options and support technical decisions before committing time and cost to manufacturing or additional prototypes.

How We Can Support Your Project

The type and depth of each analysis are determined by the technical question, the available data and the decision the analysis is intended to support.

Structural Analysis

We evaluate stresses, deformations and critical areas of a component or assembly under defined loads and support conditions.

Thermal Analysis

We evaluate temperature distribution and heat transfer according to the heat sources and operating conditions of the application.

Computational Fluid Dynamics

We analyze liquid or gas flow, velocity, pressure and, where required, the thermal behavior of the system.

Design Comparison & Improvement

We compare alternative geometries or operating conditions and identify changes that may be worth evaluating in the CAD model.

Simulation Supports Engineering Decisions — It Is Not a Guarantee on Its Own

CAD describes the geometry. CAE analysis uses that geometry together with material properties, loads, supports and other assumptions to simulate a specific operating scenario.

The reliability of the results depends on the quality of the input data and on how accurately the model represents the real application. Where required, simulation results should be combined with physical testing, measurements or the applicable certification procedures.

Input Data

The Basics We Need for the Analysis

  • The available 3D CAD model and relevant geometry
  • The technical question that needs to be answered
  • Materials and available material properties
  • Loads, supports, contacts and operating conditions
  • Temperatures, flow rates, pressures or other required conditions
  • Evaluation criteria and scenarios you want to compare
Deliverables

What You Can Receive

  • Documentation of the model, input data and assumptions
  • Visualizations of the relevant analysis results

  • Comparison of different scenarios or design versions
  • Recommendations for areas worth further investigation or modification
  • Technical report at the agreed level of detail
Flexible Engineering Support

Analysis as a Standalone Service or Part of Product Development

Analysis of an Existing Design

We can evaluate an existing CAD model as a standalone project with a clearly defined technical question and agreed simulation scenarios.

Combined CAD & CAE Development

CAE analysis can be integrated into the design cycle so that the findings lead to agreed modifications of the CAD model followed by further evaluation.

Simple Process

How We Work Together

Define the Engineering Question

We define what needs to be investigated, which scenarios should be evaluated and what data is available.

Model Preparation

We prepare the geometry and define materials, loads, supports, contacts and the remaining conditions required for the analysis.

Simulation & Review

We run the simulation, review the behavior of the model and evaluate the results in relation to the defined engineering question.

Results & Findings

We deliver the agreed results, assumptions, key findings and potential directions for the next stage of the project.

Do You Have a Design That Requires Technical Evaluation?

Send us the available CAD model, a description of its intended operation and the technical question you want to investigate. We will review the available data and recommend the appropriate analysis approach.
